Monikie
Monikie is a village in Angus, north east of Dundee, and which it takes its name from the civil parish of Monikie. The Scottish fiddler and violinist James Scott Skinner lived in Monikie.
It is the location of Affleck Castle formerly known as Auchinleck Castle. The 17th century Panmure House seat of the Earl of Panmure, was located to the east of the village, it was demolished in the 1950s. Only the stables and the 105 ft (32m) Panmure Testimonial remain, as well as the earlier Panmure Castle.
