Crieff
Crieff is between Perth and Crianlarich. A tourist hub due to its Golfing and Whisky industry, 18 miles from Perth, 56 from Glasgow, 62 from Edinburgh and 10.5 from Gleneagles.
It also hosts Scotland’s oldest lending library, it dates from 1508 with the Hydro Resort and Spa looking over the town. Known as the Capital of Strathearn, (Prince William is the Earl of Strathearn). The town was historically dominated by the Drummond family who founded Drummond Castle 2 miles south of Crieff. Crieff was infamous for the hanging of the Jacobites, the timbers from its gallows are still preserved in the town hall. Useful Information:
